Sony Japan has announced the ICF-CD7000. a CD player with built in radio and clock. It is very compact and sports stereo speakers delivering an output of 1W x 2Ch. Using the stereo mini input it can be connected to an external speakers. The CD player supports shuffle / repeat playback and CD-R / CD-RW discs. It is a pretty basic player as it lacks a remote and cannot play MP3 files. One major drawback is the alarm sounds the same boring buzzing sound instead of a track from your favorite CD. The illumination feature is cool as a blue LED lights up the player.
The Sony ICF-CD7000 player will be available in Japan from June 10th for 16,000 Yen ($ 130).
